Wedding Tree October 2011

This was my first time taking an order from the US (granted the order had to be sent to city about 1 hour from my home town of Sarnia, Ontario so I felt confident that I could get it there safe and sound). The bride to be sent me the names super early and I crafty as soon as a I could so that I could get it sent off with lots of time for their wedding :)

donate and you could own this!

Once again I'm taking part in the weekend to end women's cancers in toronto... but to even walk a step, i need to raise some cash. $1250.00 to be exact. Right now I'm sitting at around 20% of my goal, so I have decided to take some steps (also known as bribery) to increase my percentage raise.

If you are the first to donate $150 towards the my efforts http://www.endcancer.ca/site/TR/Events/Toronto2011?px=3380304&pg=personal&fr_id=1455 then you are welcome to pick up this piece from my studio (also known as my diningroom) in Belleville, Ontario or for my friends in Sarnia, I could deliver it when I get down there.

Here are some tidbits about the Walk:
- this will be my fourth time doing it.
- I LOVE that they have a one day option again this year. But that still means about 32-33kms in one day.
- walking is hard. raising money is harder.
- I can barely walk past Princess Margaret Hospital without going into the ugly cry.
- I love the people that I walk with and for.
- I can barely lift my feet off the ground after walking that much.

Last month I was asked to come up with something(s) creative to celebrate 25 year using past company logos... this is just the first one out of a series. I came up with another one last night (not quite dry yet - pictures to come)

hydrengeas!

This one is inpired by my mom's garden and the butterflies that congregate whenever we are stomping all over the prestine backyard! I fell in love with the paper for the background and wanted to do something super duper special with it.... this window is now my new favourite!

Reclaimed Windows

I love to see how old dirty windows can turn into really pretty stuff....
above is my interpretation of gerber daisies... hot pink!
Check out my new display for the ribbon flowers I painstakingly stitched
And this small little window turned out to be my almost favourite!
And this just makes me go awwwww. I made a similar one for a friend of mine that was a little more livelier... but I also fell in love with the grid paper I used and wanted to make something subtle with this window.

April Artwork

This is what I've been up to. The top one reminds me of summertime, really hot days that show all the colours of my mom's garden (not mine).
I found this little window about a month ago and from the start I knew I wanted to do something pink and red with it. My favourite colour combination!

A couple of nights ago, I came home to a lovely phone call for an order for a newly engaged couple who would like a wedding guest tree. I can't wait to make another one of these especially for them!

I heart pineapples!

I went paper internet shopping last week (one of my most favourite things) and stumbled upon pineapple papers! I ordered one in each colour - I think I got 17 sheets sent to me - just to try them to see if they would work for what I was thinking... and they worked out great. I'm a fan!

I used the red to make one of my window art projects (sorry I don't think I took a picture before I handed it off of the lovely lady who ordered it).

Description: Handmade in Thailand from natural pineapple fibres, providing a unique texture. This exotic paper is availablein 29 rich colours. Every stage of the pineapple paper making process is environmentally friendly! From wild pineapple leaves to beautifully textured and dyed art paper!

J-O-Y

This was an old small basement window but the three panels made great frames for these 3 letters. I painted the frame silver to give it a little holiday glitter.

Pretty Holiday Offerings

This was my table at the show... we (Maya and I) were right in the lobby so we were one of the first booths that any visitors saw.
